Remembering Robert McMillan: A Tribute to a Respected Colleague and Friend

It is with great sadness that we share the news of the unexpected passing of our colleague and friend, and a true titan of the hospitality maintenance world, Robert McMillan.

Robert was an essential part of Catercall’s Contracts Business Development team and a highly respected figure across the hospitality equipment and maintenance industry. He was loved and valued by his clients, colleagues and everyone fortunate enough to have worked alongside him.

Throughout his career, Rob brought a wealth of experience, ambition and enthusiasm to everything he did. From his early days working in hospitality to equipment sales and, ultimately, service and maintenance, he approached every challenge with an unwavering work ethic and a genuine passion for the industry he loved.

Working shoulder to shoulder with passionate chefs and talented engineers is no easy ride, but Rob had a natural ability to build relationships, understand the challenges faced by those around him and find a way forward. He could set up an office just about anywhere, and his commitment to supporting the industry was evident in everything he did.

Rob was never one for the limelight. He was a quiet professional, known for his knowledge, humility and commanding, well-spoken voice. He simply got on with the job, earning the respect of those around him through his experience, integrity and dedication. He truly walked the walk and talked the talk.

Above all, Robert was a devoted family man. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Aida, and their three sons, Aron, Jay and Paul. Our thoughts are with them, along with all his family, friends and loved ones, as they navigate this incredibly difficult time.
