Birmingham kitchen maintenance firm now working through next stage of transition after assets and goodwill are acquired.
Catercall has acquired the assets and goodwill of Nova Catering Repairs out of administration.
The Brierley Hill-based kitchen maintenance firm, which was set up six years ago, entered administration at the beginning of this month after encountering difficulties.
In a statement, Catercall admitted the transition had “presented some challenges”, including the decision of the vast majority of Nova’s existing team to pursue opportunities outside of the business, but said that it remained very positive about the future.
“This represents an exciting opportunity for Catercall to build on the strong reputation and customer relationships established by Nova Catering Repairs and to continue supporting customers across the commercial catering equipment sector,” it commented.
“Our priority is to ensure continuity of service for existing customers while bringing Catercall’s established infrastructure, engineering capability and customer-first approach to the Nova customer base.”
Nova provided repair, maintenance and call-out services to local authorities, NHS sites, National Trust properties and other hospitality businesses, primarily in the West Midlands but also as far west as Gloucester.
In a separate post on LinkedIn, Nova also referenced the challenging period that followed its decision to appoint administrators.
This included changes within the team alongside the practicalities of transferring systems and operations to the new ownership.
It wrote: “Our priority throughout has been to deal openly with customers. Where we haven’t been confident that we could provide the level or speed of service required during the transition, we have been honest about that and, where appropriate, advised customers to make alternative arrangements for urgent requirements.
“We are now working through the next stage of the transition and will be reconnecting with Nova customers, suppliers and industry partners over the coming weeks.”
The company added: “Nova remains open and contactable throughout the transition. Existing and former customers can continue to contact us through the usual Nova channels, and we’ll provide further updates as our plans develop.”
Catercall has previously acquired the assets and IP rights of Hallmark Kitchens from administration, while more recently it snapped up Fulcrum Commercial Kitchens.
