On Monday, October 7th, Catercall welcomed new business ventures into its family. These acquisitions mark a big step forward, expanding Catercall's reach and bringing more pristine services to customers in the catering and hospitality world.
Birmingham-based Catercall, a leading service and installation firm, has made a significant move towards growth in 2025 with a series of targeted acquisitions, including the assets of Hallmark Kitchens.
Catercall has finalised deals to acquire the assets and IP rights of Hallmark Kitchens, alongside the trading businesses of DMM Catering Services, Hotel Buyer Store, Caterspeed, and Restaurant Supply Store. These acquisitions mark an expansion into both commercial kitchen services and hospitality equipment supply.
Catercall’s Managing Director, Matt Magee, highlighted the importance of the acquisitions in broadening their service capabilities and entering new market sectors.
“It represents a shift in our strategy which is to add synergistic businesses operating within the hospitality industry to our portfolio. These platforms are highly advanced and make ordering products super easy.

“We can now provide our customers with access to a host of new products and services, delivered from a business that places quality at the centre of their philosophy,” said Mr. Magee.
The newly acquired platforms, set up by Jon Shepherd, focus on hotel and restaurant supply products. Shepherd will remain involved, continuing to manage the businesses under Catercall’s ownership.
Mr Shepherd stated: “I am excited about what both businesses can achieve together in terms of growth opportunities. Catercall were identified as an ideal fit and we are looking forward to the next chapter in our journey with them.”
DMM Catering Services, a family-run commercial kitchen maintenance company operating for 23 years in the Thames Valley region, expressed confidence in Catercall’s ability to continue serving its loyal customers. Founders David and Angela Merchant will remain involved during the transition.
Similarly, the acquisition of Hallmark Kitchens, a respected name in the industry for over 40 years before ceasing operations earlier this year, ensures its assets and reputation are preserved under Catercall’s leadership.
Catercall’s expansion strategy positions it as a leading player in commercial kitchen services and hospitality equipment supply. By integrating trusted kitchen installation services with advanced online sales platforms, Catercall is set to deliver comprehensive solutions for hotels, restaurants, and commercial kitchens as it enters 2025.
