Case Study: Supporting Jigsaw Trust’s Café Refurbishment, Dunsfold Park

Creating Space for Learning and Catering Service

Jigsaw Trust’s Café on the Park Enterprise in Dunsford provides a safe, supportive environment where learners can gain hands-on experience in café operations. However, the café’s existing servery layout limited the number of covers available and made daily operations more challenging. To improve the learning experience and streamline service, Jigsaw needed a refurbishment that would improve workflow and create additional space for learners and customers.

Expert Support and Generous Donations

Catercall donated an engineer team, including some key appliances and parts to enable a kitchen and servery refurbishment, to facilitate a fund raising café within a safe managed work environment for Jigsaw members. Our team carried out a series of practical and impactful improvements:

• Made cosmetic adjustments to the servery to allow more covers and smoother operations
• Removed the built-in refrigerated servery unit and replaced it with a free-standing unit
• Donated a Williams multideck for customer-facing drinks and refreshments
• Provided an engineer team and key appliances/parts to support the refurbishment

This work not only improved the café’s flow and functionality but also created a larger, safer, and more engaging environment for learners gaining hands-on work experience.

Charity Partnership: Raising Funds and Supporting Skills

In 2024, Catercall adopted Jigsaw Trust as their chosen charity, offering support in two key ways:

• Direct fundraising: Participating in the London to Brighton bike ride, raising over £15,000
• Practical support: Donating equipment, parts, and engineers’ time to help refurbish the café

By combining practical support with fundraising, Catercall has helped Jigsaw Trust provide learners with more opportunities to develop skills in a real-world café setting.
